Our Story........
The Organization was incorporated June 5, 1984, chartered under parti iii, not-for-profit organization. Under this status the Station has access to government financial aid. Our major annual financial supporter is the Provincial Government, the MCCCF. CJAS 93.5 radio is licensed by the CRTC to broadcast on a 100 watt transmitter in the English language only.
CJAS 93.5 FM "live" broadcast hours are 07:30 to 16:30, Monday to Friday. Original programming fills the remaining hours and days. Within our Promise of Performance, we are allotted 20% capricious programming without notice.
Through subsidized programs from the Governments Departments such as Minister of Communication & Culture and Feminine Status' annual subvention and equipment grants, Canada Economic Development assistance with HiSpeed and this WebSite, Canada Heritage's funding of equipment and the Local Development Center's contribution in salaries, equipment and upgrading, we continue on our road of networking and development while maintaining our unique identity.

RadioHeads, Made Possible by CJAS 93.5 fm In Collaboration With Canadian Heritage
UPDATE!
In December 2009, CJAS began the RadioHeads project with the students at Ecole St. Augustine School which continued until March 2010. This exciting project was funded by Canadian heritage and successfully had a total of 22 youth from our community that were involved. The project coordinator was our very own Abbygail Wellman. The goal of the RadioHeads project was to give the youth the opportunity to share their interests with other people through the awesome world of radio and this goal was surely achieved as all the particpants had a grand time. Each participant enjoyed conducting interviews, creating public service announcements, and going live on air at CJAS! At the end of the project, four secondary IV students created a radio documentary titled 'Exploring Our Roots, A Step Back In Time With Residents Of St. Augustine' which was a huge success! Congratulations to all the participants of the project, you did an exceptional job! We hope to have you join us again at CJAS Community Radio Station.
CJAS 2nd Annual Family Day 2010!
Talk about a huge Yee-Haw! CJAS' family day left children and adults Yew-Hawing all day with the western themed event! There was entertainment for persons of all ages in a way only CJAS can do. Children enjoyed many games such as the trampoline, water balloons and golfing which kept them smiling throughout the whole event. They also got their faces painted and sent people to jail, which the adults adults enjoyed just as much as the children. Everyone enjoyed a hamburger, wings and a cold beverage compliments of the station. The children faces were in complete awe later in the night because as the sun went down, the fireworks went up into sky. The colors exploded in the dark sky, as the people watched in amazement. Thanks to the municipality of Saint-Augustin, everyone got to leave the event with not only a smile on their face but a photo to remember the moment for only 3 dollars, because the municipality paid the other 5 dollars with their very appreciated donation. CJAS would like to extend a huge thank you to all the cowboys and cowgirls, who joined us on Family Day 2010, and we hope to see you all at our next event! See Y'all Later!

Music Sooths The Soul
Shakespeare said "If music be the food of soul, then play on". Surely, music puts a balm on all your worries and it sooths and relaxes your mind. And music has been regarded as the voice of the soul too. From generations and centuries, music has given enough entertainment to the mankind. Come to the contemporary times and you would witness a sort of revolution in the music industry. Owing to the popular trends like cinema and Internet, there is an emergence of a lot of genres like pop music, jazz, country, Blues, rock etc. that we all enjoy. So, "If music be the food of soul, then play on".
